I Hate Jamie Oliver, he's like a Silkie Terrier - small, annoying, yappy, unhelpful and loved by women in their 40's.
I like Antonio Carluccio, he's like a regular human being - he gets his passion across in a simple and infectious way. His recipes inspire, they beg for creativity and variances on the theme. His teaching method is simple, he never patronises his guests - he honours them.
The difference between these two are in my mind - I want to punch one repeatedly for being an annoying patronising git, while the other inspires me to cook. Good Eating is as much about ingredients as they are about technique and recipe.
But most of all it should be about having fun.
Have a look at this LINK to a story from Kiwiland about a book to teach kids the love of cooking!!
