To Know Me Is To Love Me...

My photo
Suave raconteur and dinner party favourite. Once held the Olympic torch, has delivered newspapers to prime ministers, shaken hands with Prince Charles, wrecked Jason Donovan's skateboard, climbed 300 metre granite cliff faces, surfed with dolphins, appears on community radio and is in demand for these and the accounts of other thrilling exploits!

On the weekend

We went to an Apple Fair, it was a bit shite to tell you the truth. The location was Pettys Orchard, which is right on the Yarra in quite a lovey location. The orchard is well known for it's commitment to preserving heritage varieties of apples. It's a remarkable fact that most apple trees can have different fruit grafted onto to them (therefore growing 2 or more varieties on the same tree) allowing for the preservation of trees and fruit.
So there are good intentions here. However, as was pointed out to me, there was also very little apple themed activities going on at the festival. No apple bobbing or apple pie eating contests (which myself and CJ would have won in our respective age categories). But lots of overpriced 'organic' food and healing-power-of-crystals rubbish.
The highlight, such as it was, were the snakes. I finally conquered a trepidation I have felt about snakes and let a Murray Darling Python (actually a rather affectionate Murray Darling Python) climb over me. They are surprisingly soft and I felt the outward skin to be feathery (of all things) while his belly was very smooth.
Can I say my reaction to snakes has changed? Not really but I am glad I did make friends, briefly, with a snake.

Getting with IT

So I suggested a new direction or new medium for BubbaJay. My thinking is a cooking blog.
I love food and I love to cook and I think it's a good thing to write. I'll continue BubbaJay but will be preparing a cooking blog. My goal is to have a starting line up of 12 recipes by the end of April and kick it off from there.

Anyway more excuses for slack blogging performance below...

It has been a while

I would be lying if I said it's because nothing interesting has occurred.  But it has been a while since my last post. Trying to decide whether or not to continue with BubbaJay or to try something different.
